LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The Sahara Hotel & Casino has reached a tentative agreement with unions representing 700 workers, the unions said. The agreement is to be ratified by members of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and the Bartenders Union Local 165 on Saturday. The deal is the latest in a series of contracts that have been negotiated with Las Vegas Strip employers in the last several months. The Culinary Union represents more than 60,000 workers on the Las Vegas Strip, at casinos downtown, at the airport, and at industrial laundry facilities in Las Vegas. The Culinary Union is to hold a strike authorization vote on Wednesday for some 10,000 workers who are still working under old contracts.
